The next inconic development project in the Zabeel district:

The Kifaf Development project is located in the emerging residential development area near Zabeel Park, Dubai, and is part of a mixed development masterplan with residences and hotels.

The luxurious Plot 5 residence project consists of 2 Tall Twin Towers, connected by a link bridge from the 36th to the 42nd floors and share a common podium and basement structure.
This iconic project is sometimes nicknamed “No.1” or “Dubai 1” due to its mirror image shape of the number ‘1’ when viewed bi-directionally.

Provider of real-time automatic monitoring:

Sixense had been engaged on this project first by DBB then by Ssangyong, respectively during the enabling and shoring works for the construction of the substructure of the twin towers.

All the “classic” monitoring regime techniques during enabling works were there, from the manual survey of inclinometer casings in the shoring wall, the standpipe piezometers, anchor load cells and levelling points, but Sixense Added Value was in the real-time automatic monitoring of the shape of the shoring wall, as well as the monitoring of a critical DEWA power substation right in front of the excavation, using an Automated Total Station.

An alarm system was set-up in case of excessive movements measured, and a live access to the monitoring data was also provided through Sixense Webbased GIS software Geoscope.

Project Key figures

45 Optical Prisms for monitoring the excavation
12 Optical Prisms to monitor a DEWA Sub-Station
